The State of Virginia is having a SALES TAX HOLIDAY in order to help Virginia citizens better prepare for what is expected to be a heavier than usual hurricane season in the Mid-Atlantic area.

Didn't readily see your email address anywhere, so I expect you can just delete this comment, but have you heard of Richmond Freecycle? I'd be surprised if you haven't... but as a fellow frugal sort-of person, it's almost impossible for me to not mention it.
We've given away some great stuff and picked up some great stuff, for free.
Goal is to keep stuff out of the dumps/landfills...
